It's finally here. After putting Graphene into Head's Tennis and Squash line of racquets that made them both #1 selling lines in each sport they finally decided to inject Graphene into their 2014-2015 racquetball line to make the best Racquetball Racquet series in the history of Head Racquetball. Right now our best all time selling line of racquets we have at Racquetworld.com is the Liquid Metal Series and Graphene will be next in line as this technology infiltrates the racquetball world. This year Head has 3 racquet weights to choose from which are the 160, 170, and 180. If you have a very fast swing speed or are a younger player (35 or less) grab the 160 but if you are 35+ the 170 or 180 would work best for you.

What is Graphene exactly? Well Graphene is an ultra-light and ultra-strong substance which is 200 times stronger than steel. Head places Graphene in the shaft so that weight can be redistributed to more functionally relevant areas of the handle and tip. This unique construction provides players with increased swing weight for more power with less effort.

These are available in both the smaller 3 5/8 and larger 3 7/8 grip sizes.

Our favorite Squash wrap grip is the Squash Galaxy Wrap Grip. We've been in the business a long time and always get requests on what our favorite wrap grip is for squash so we went out and made our own! The Squash Galaxy Wrap grip has a smooth and extremely tacky feel and is the appropriate length and size for any squash racquet on the market. It's only $8 to have it installed at the time of purchase.

The Python Atlas Deluxe 18g (Black) string upgrade (+$25) is recommended at the time of purchase because the factory string generally has lesser playability and durability qualities and often strung too tight. After years of play-testing and selling strings in squash and racquetball we feel we can finally recommend a string to our customer base that not only offers great durability, but backs that up with a great feel and play. The Python Atlas Deluxe is a soft, multifilament string that will gradually fray through the life cycle of the string.(This is completely normal, so don’t worry about it. It will fray down to the very last fibers) For players looking for added “feel”, try the Atlas Deluxe in an 18g which is thinner and more responsive and for those who like a little "stiffer" string, try Tecnifibre 305 Green 17g which is still a multifilament or those who like a textured string that does not fray, try the Ashaway PowerNick 18g String.

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Smart Sorb, Head Megasorb, or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?" It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We recommend an overgrip for players that tend a sweat a lot, want to build up a grip, or wear through wrap grips very often. An overgrip is thinner and wears quicker than re-grips, but can be changed much quicker and easier than a re-grip. We recommend the SquashGalaxy Black Overgrip or SquashGalaxy White Overgrip, but for those looking for the best sweat absorption, durability, and feel... the Overgrip/Re-grip gives the best combination. Note** when an overgrip is installed, you will not be able to see the re-grip if chose to have it installed.

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

    Technology

    Graphene

Discovered in 2004, Graphene consists of a single two-dimensional layer of carbon atoms. This material has a breaking strength 200 times greater than steel, which makes it the ultimate substance for creating new HEAD squash racquet frames with exceptional properties. Graphene technology allows for the first time an optimal redistribution of weight in HEAD racquets. Through the use of Graphene in the shaft, the weight in the middle part of the squash racquet can be reduced. Instead, weight can be shifted to more functionally relevant areas in the grip and racquet head. This unique construction provides players with an unmatched maneuverability and an increased swingweight. In other words, a racquet with Graphene is easier to swing and enables even more powerful shots. And it will give opponents a really hard time.

    Graphene

This video is for Graphene Tennis Racquets but the use of Graphene for Squash Racquets is the same.

    d3o - (dee-three-oh)

HEAD's d3o Technology is a specially engineered material made with intelligent molecules. The molecules flow as the racquet moves but on shock lock together to absorb the impact energy

d3o belongs to the "smart materials" category and is a futuristic material with abnormal behavior characteristics. More specifically d3o changes its behavior under dynamic loading or impact. Integrated in the lay-up and positioned in the shaft area where the racquet flexes the most, d3o maximizes performance and offers new possibilities for players.

d3o is able to sense the needs of the players during different strokes. It's able to adapt to YOU. On high speed impacts (aggressive shots), the smart molecules lock together within nano seconds and dramatically increase the stiffness of the racquet to provide maximum power. On slow speed impacts, the smart molecules absorb the impact to provide a softer touch for better feel. What does this mean to a squash player? Passing shots are even harder and drop shots have more precision rewarding your spontaneity and supporting your courageous decisions.

    Corrugated Technology

HEAD's Corrugated Technology is a revolutionary new shaft design that optimizes power, torsion, bending and handling on every stroke.

    Corrugated Technology

    How Does it Work?

Corrugated rails are incorporated into the shaft of the racquet creating up to 12% more stiffness than conventional design.
