Description of the Racquet

Leading up the 2016 HEAD squash racquet family, the Graphene XT Xenon 135 Slimbody combines decades of unique experience with groundbreaking technologies such as the new Adaptive Fan Pattern (AFP) and the Graphene XT technology, which makes them the perfect weapons for every kind of players on all parts of the court

Recommended by Omar Mosaad, the 2015 World Championship runner-up, and played by most HEAD squash pros, the Graphene XT Xenon 135 Slimbody features a unique thin beam, which makes the racquet very aerodynamic and ensures the recovery of any ball even when close to the wall. The slim beam racquet also comes with the brand new Adaptive Fan Pattern (AFP) technology, which allows players to choose between the straight string pattern for a maximum power game or the special fan-shaped pattern to optimize the ability to control the ball. As most HEAD squash racquets, it also features with the innovative Graphene XT technology for an improved energy transfer, a higher ball speed and faster game. Super accurate and control-friendly, the Graphene XT Xenon 135 Slimbody is the choice for those players who value control and improved maneuverability.

Our favorite Squash wrap grip is the Squash Galaxy Wrap Grip. We've been in the business a long time and always get requests on what our favorite wrap grip is for squash so we went out and made our own! The Squash Galaxy Wrap grip has a smooth and extremely tacky feel and is the appropriate length and size for any squash racquet on the market. It's only $8 to have it installed at the time of purchase.

The Python Atlas Deluxe 17g (Black) string upgrade (+$25) is recommended at the time of purchase because the factory string generally has lesser playability and durability qualities and often strung too tight. After years of play-testing and selling strings in squash and racquetball we feel we can finally recommend a string to our customer base that not only offers great durability, but backs that up with a great feel and play. The Python Atlas Deluxe is a soft, multifilament string that will gradually fray through the life cycle of the string.(This is completely normal, so don’t worry about it. It will fray down to the very last fibers) For players looking for added “feel”, try the Atlas Deluxe in an 18g which is thinner and more responsive and for those who like a little "stiffer" string, try Tecnifibre 305 Green 17g which is still a multifilament or those who like a textured string that does not fray, try the Ashaway PowerNick 18g String.

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Smart Sorb, Head Megasorb, or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?" It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We recommend an overgrip for players that tend a sweat a lot, want to build up a grip, or wear through wrap grips very often. An overgrip is thinner and wears quicker than re-grips, but can be changed much quicker and easier than a re-grip. We recommend the SquashGalaxy Black Overgrip or SquashGalaxy White Overgrip, but for those looking for the best sweat absorption, durability, and feel... the Overgrip/Re-grip gives the best combination. Note** when an overgrip is installed, you will not be able to see the re-grip if chose to have it installed.

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

AFP - Adaptive Fan Pattern

Adaptive Fan Fattern (AFP) technology allows you to customize your string pattern to maximize your game. With Head's new racquet and bumper technology, allows players to choose between the straight string pattern for a maximum power game or the special fan-shaped pattern to optimize the ability to control the ball.

Head's Straight String Pattern is designed for players looking for maximum power with optimal touch and feel.

Head's new Fan Pattern is designed for players looking for a stiffer string bed. This dense fan pattern increases the stiffness of the string bed increasing control while maintaining power with longer main strings.

GrapheneXT

GrapheneXT

GrapheneXT allows an even more extreme distribution of weight creating HEAD‘s lightest racquets ever! ... less head weight is created for an even faster swing speed and explosive power!

Slim Body

Slim Body

With the addition of Graphene XT the beam width has been reduced down to 16mm from the traditional width of 20mm

Graphene

Discovered in 2004, Graphene consists of a single two-dimensional layer of carbon atoms. This material has a breaking strength 200 times greater than steel, which makes it the ultimate substance for creating new HEAD squash racquet frames with exceptional properties. Graphene technology allows for the first time an optimal redistribution of weight in HEAD racquets. Through the use of Graphene in the shaft, the weight in the middle part of the squash racquet can be reduced. Instead, weight can be shifted to more functionally relevant areas in the grip and racquet head. This unique construction provides players with an unmatched maneuverability and an increased swingweight. In other words, a racquet with Graphene is easier to swing and enables even more powerful shots. And it will give opponents a really hard time.

This video is for Graphene Tennis Racquets but the use of Graphene for Squash Racquets is the same.
