Description of the Racquet

Wilson is a world leader in sporting goods and racquet sports. They are renowned for their quality, innovation, and dominance; with this year’s racquets continuing this trend. Pro Staff and Blade are some of the most recognized names in Tennis and Wilson has finally delivered these winners into Squash and we can promise you they won’t disappoint. Boasting sleek and identifiable minimalistic cosmetics, Wilson has stripped away the unnecessary elements and focused on the essentials designing two of the most exciting series we have seen in years from any brand.

Integrating Countervail (see video below about Countervail in Tennis Racquets) technology into these frames maximize player energy, reduce muscle fatigue, and shortens player recovery time. These frames will leave you feeling like you could play squash all night, wake up in the morning and want to do it all over again with an arm as fresh as the day before.

Pro Staff vs. Blade:

Pro Staff Series:

If you are a player looking for the all around racquet that produces optimal control, precision placement and ultimate feel the Pro Staff will be your pick. They are available in Countervail (143g), Ultra Light (138g), and Light (150g).

Blade Series:

If you are a player looking for an emphasis on more of a hybrid feel between power and control the Blade will be your pick. They are available in Countervail (135g), Ultra Light (133g), and Light (140g).

Our favorite Squash wrap grip is the Squash Galaxy Wrap Grip. We've been in the business a long time and always get requests on what our favorite wrap grip is for squash so we went out and made our own! The Squash Galaxy Wrap grip has a smooth and extremely tacky feel and is the appropriate length and size for any squash racquet on the market. It's only $8 to have it installed at the time of purchase.

The Python Atlas Deluxe 17g (Black) string upgrade (+$25) is recommended at the time of purchase because the factory string generally has lesser playability and durability qualities and often strung too tight. After years of play-testing and selling strings in squash and racquetball we feel we can finally recommend a string to our customer base that not only offers great durability, but backs that up with a great feel and play. The Python Atlas Deluxe is a soft, multifilament string that will gradually fray through the life cycle of the string.(This is completely normal, so don’t worry about it. It will fray down to the very last fibers) For players looking for added “feel”, try the Atlas Deluxe in an 18g which is thinner and more responsive and for those who like a little "stiffer" string, try Tecnifibre 305 Green 17g which is still a multifilament or those who like a textured string that does not fray, try the Ashaway PowerNick 18g String.

If you choose a vibration dampener go with the Python Vibration Dampner (Our favorite), Head Smart Sorb, Head Megasorb, or the BBB (Big Bad Band).

A question we get everyday is "What is Grommet Tape?" It's a piece of tape that goes over the head (bumper) of your racquet. Sometimes you need a restring because of a broken bumper. For an extra buck to add this, it could save you $25-40!!

We recommend an overgrip for players that tend a sweat a lot, want to build up a grip, or wear through wrap grips very often. An overgrip is thinner and wears quicker than re-grips, but can be changed much quicker and easier than a re-grip. We recommend the SquashGalaxy Black Overgrip or SquashGalaxy White Overgrip, but for those looking for the best sweat absorption, durability, and feel... the Overgrip/Re-grip gives the best combination. Note** when an overgrip is installed, you will not be able to see the re-grip if chose to have it installed.

We get follow up calls/emails everyday thanking us for the upgrades as they really help bring out the performance of the racquet.

Power Holes

Wilson "Power Holes" Racquets feature elongated grommet holes on the inside of the racket head, allowing the strings to move more freely upon ball impact which helps players generate more power on off-center hits.

In contrast to traditional grommet holes which are merely 1.7mm in diameter, Wilson Power Holes are 10mm long (by 3mm wide), which give the strings up to 8.7mm of potential movement. This enhanced movement or sustained string contact helps the ball stay on the strings longer, resulting in increased feel, better directional control and more power!. Wilson Power Holes also expand the actual string response area, enabling players to experience the power of an oversize racket with the control of a midsize.
